- Just my own concepts (sometimes a sci-fi book or movie).
But if you are asking about techniques, then there are a lot of space tutorials here on devart - just search.

My favourite part of good space art is the feeling of epicness that you only get with something really good. Hard to explain really :S. Like a piece that can make you feel really small, or really relaxed - something that causes some form of emotion.

I suppose its the same for all art - anything that can cause any sort of feeling (obviously other than disgust, hate etc xD) is a pinnacle that only some of the greatest artists actually achieve
